Experience Human Flight!
Skydiving is a one-of-a-kind thrill. For many, it involves
overcoming fears to achieve a higher level of confidence and
freedom. Watching your parachute deploy on your first jump and
taking in the view from thousands of feet above the beautiful Berlin
Lakes Recreational Area is an incredible experience.
Discounted Rates
Come jump with the CMU Explorers Club skydiving group and enjoy
significantly discounted prices! To take advantage of the discounted
CMU group rates listed on this website, you must make your jumps as
part of an official CMU Explorers Club skydiving trip.* (This means
that the trip is organized by an Explorers Club officer or other
current member and is openly advertised to the Explorers Club
community.) Please contact Greg MacLean or Michael Jehn (see below)
for more information. Those who complete a jump course at Canton Air
Sports and qualify for a USPA
(United States Parachute Association) license qualify for discounted
gear rental.
* You do not have to be a current member of the Explorers Club to
attend a skydiving trip with the club, but we strongly encourage you
to consider joining and checking out all the other activities that
we offer.

Greg MacLean (gmaclean@andrew.cmu.edu)
I made my first skydive in March 2006 and fell in love
immediately. I now carry a C-license and am beginning to fly
camera and coach new skydivers. Over three years later,
there is still thrill in every jump! By far, the greatest
thrill remains sharing the experience with new people. I
hope you can join us soon! |

Michael Jehn (michaeljehn@gmail.com)
I made my first jump in 2003 with a group of first-time
static line students from CMU and began organizing and
leading skydiving trips for the Explorers Club in the fall
of 2004. Since then, more than 200 people have made their
first jump with us at Canton Air Sports! My passion for
skydiving developed quite accidentally; I'd never intended
to pursue skydiving as a sport, but my involvement with the
Explorers Club and my passion for running trips--witnessing
so many students' glorious first jumps--inspired me to stick
with it. I'm an A-licensed member of the USPA who spends
many a warm sunny day wishing he were skydiving instead of
sitting at work. Blue skies everyone! |
